The Lakeshore Board of Education represents the Lakeshore Community in its decision making process. The regular meetings of the Board of Education are held on the second Monday of each month, unless scheduled otherwise, beginning at 5:30 P.M. The meetings are held in the Lakeshore High School Media Center.

The Board of Education members are elected at the Annual Election held on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in May. Citizens desiring to serve on the Board of Education must be at least 18 years of age. Names are placed on the ballot upon the filing of the required nominating petitions (usually due the first week of February). Members serve for four-year terms. They are paid $20.00 for each regular or special meeting attended. During the school year, the Board conducts over 24 Regular/Special Board Meetings. In addition, Board Members attend 2-3 committee meetings each month throughout the year. The Board functions as a “policy” rather than an “administrative” board. A “Board Policy Manual” is available for review in the Lincoln Township Library, school libraries, and the superintendent’s office.
