The Finance and Operations Department is responsible for services that support the students and educational staff of Lakeshore Public Schools.

Food Service Operations
The School Food Service Operations serves all of the district's more than 2,900 students and many of the district's faculty and support staff on a daily basis. A significant number of students (and faculty) participate in either the school lunch program or a-la-carte lunches.

Custodial and Maintenance Operations
The Custodial and Maintenance Operations are responsible for cleaning and maintaining over 460,000 square feet of floor space and equipment in the district's five school buildings, the transportation facility, and other maintenance and storage buildings.

Grounds Maintenance
The Grounds Maintenance staff is responsible for maintaining about 155 acres of grounds including playgrounds and athletic fields at the district’s five schools and parcels of land in the Village of Baroda (10 acres) and in Baroda Township (36 acres). The Grounds Maintenance staff is a leader in play ground safety. Grounds Maintenance places a priority on inspecting the district's play areas on a monthly basis. All of the district's playgrounds have had a playground safety audit by a licensed landscape architect and certified playground inspector.

Transportation
On a daily basis, the Transportation staff safely transports nearly a 1,000 students or about 33% of the districts enrollment. In the process, the district's fleet travels over 310,000 miles each year. The district's fleet is regularly inspected by the Michigan State Police to ensure that vehicles that transport students are safely maintained. Safety if priority #1 for the Lakeshore Transportation Department. For 2007-2008, the Michigan State Police inspection gave the Lakeshore bus fleet their highest possible safety rating.

Business Office
The Business Office staff handles payroll for district employees, writes checks for district vendors, and ensures appropriate internal controls to safeguard taxpayer assets.
