Lakeshore currently offers six (6) CTE and two (2) shared time courses at our high school: Welding, Automotive, Mechanical Drawing and CAD, Web Design, Marketing, Machine Tool, Dance and Music Theory. Our Lakeshore students also travel to other districts to take a variety of classes such as: Professional Health Care Academy, Allied Health, Sports Medicine, EMT, Construction Trades and Fire Fighting, to name just a few options. New State Assessments ~ Just Around the Corner

The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) replaces the forty year-old Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP), moving the state assessment from the fall to the spring and from paper/pencil administration to an online format.  This change allows student measurement to be based upon current versus prior year learning.

As in previous years, English language arts (reading, writing and listening) and mathematics will be assessed in grades 3-8. Science will be assessed in grades grades 4 and 7, and social studies in grades 5 and 8.

The 11th grade Michigan Merit Examination (MME) consists of ACT Plus Writing (a college entrance exam) and WorkKeys (a work skills assessment) as well as the M-STEP summative assessments which will measure student growth in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.  Beginning in the spring of 2016, the ACT Plus Writing will be replaced by the SAT.

Specific testing dates vary by grade level, with testing occurring between March 3 - June 6.  Please pay special attention to the dates provided by individual buildings to ensure that your child is present, eats a good breakfast, and is rested for the assessments.

Please use school code 40121 when ordering online.

The deadline for ordering the 2014-2015 Yearbook

is April 24th, 2015!

We entered this year with a real challenge, the need to recruit and train replacements for a large graduating class, which cut our team in half. We recruited a similar number of new members, mostly freshmen, and they gained enough experience and confidence during preseason training activities that the 6-week build went very smoothly. In addition, the team’s game playing expertise was better than ever. Pictures and more information are on our website

Notice of School Calendar Changes Due to Snow Days
After another blast from Mother Nature this winter, we were forced to close school on seven different occasions this school year. Since the State allows exemption for only six weather related cancelations, we are making the following changes to our 2014-15 school calendar:

  • April 24, 2015 – Will now be a full day of school. It had previously been scheduled as a half day for students.

  • June 5, 2015 – Will now be the last day of school for students and will be scheduled as a half day. Thursday, June 4, 2015 had previously been scheduled as the final day of school. It will remain a half day for students.
