Band Parent Meeting
If you are the parent of a middle school or high school student, please join in and help support our wonderful Lakeshore Band Program! The next band parent meeting will be held on Monday, February 6th at 7:00pm in the middle school band room.

New middle school color guard flags are going to be made this spring. Please contact Michelle Tuller at mtuller@comcast.net or 269-422-1586. if you are interested in helping. Various tasks will include cutting, ironing, pinning and sewing. Tasks will be sent home and you can work on it at you convince and return in a timely manner.
Marching Band Directories are available for purchase in the high school band room for $1.00 each.
6th Annual Lakeshore Band Auction Saturday Evening, March 10, 2012 Lakeshore High School Last year, the Auction was a huge success and over $8,000 was raised for the band program. The Auction will again showcase several of our high school and middle school musicians.

Middle School Band News
We encourage middle school students to take private lessons if at all possible. Private lesson information is available on the website. Many of our private teachers offer twenty minute lessons during band class. Financial assistance is available through the Band Parent Financial Aid Program.

Mackinaw Island, Band Camp, Fiesta Bowl! Band offers great opportunities for our kids to experience them all! Your band student can earn credit to use toward these upcoming events by selling items from our famous food sale. Check out the variety of quality items on the enclosed forms (or the band website) and consider ordering to support your student and our great band program. Never ordered before? It’s easy! Just fill out the form, return it with payment, pick up the order, and the credit goes directly into your student’s account. Every little bit helps when it’s time to make those pay-ments! IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER: Friday, Feb. 17- last day to place orders. Turn in forms to either the MS or HS band room. Saturday, March 3- pick-up order in the HS band room >See Newsletter

As Lakeshore Director of Bands for the last 23 years, I know that an integral and vital part of the program is parental support. Your children need your volunteer support as much as they need your cheers and whistles from the bleachers at competitions. We could not run this program without the countless volunteers who make the flags, haul the equipment, work the concession stand, chair festivals and fundraisers, and feed, water and chaperone the students.
For the upcoming football season, we need every high school band family to volunteer at least one night in the concession stand. We also need every family to participate in the Band Invitational. Please take some time to review the Volunteer Opportunities Form in this newsletter and sign up to help support your child in the band program. Please turn in your form on August 7th in the High School Band Room. Lancer Pride comes from knowing that you’ve done your part and done it to the best of your ability.
