Lakeshore High School FIRST Robotics Team Open House
The Lakeshore FIRST Robotics Team #4237 (“Team Lance-A-Bot”) invites the community to attend their Open House from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Lakeshore High School cafeteria on Thursday, May 17. 2012 LMS Fall Cheerleading Tryouts (Current 6th and 7th grade students) Mandatory Parent Info Meeting- Monday, May 21st – High School LGI room – 6:30pm Tryout Clinic: Tues., May 29th and Wed., May 30th – 3:00-4:30pm Tryout Evaluation: Thurs., May 31st at 3:00pm (Clinics/Eval will all be held in the High School Aux. Gym) Athletes MUST attend both Clinics and the tryout! Tryout packets are available in the Middle School Office
MS Spring Choir Concert
The middle school choirs will perform, Music from the 80’s, 90’s, and Today, on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:00 P.M. in the Lakeshore Community Auditorium. A donation of $1 per person is requested for admission. This concert will feature all four of our choirs—6th Grade Choir, combined 7th Grade Choir, 8th Grade Choir and Honors Choir—as well as solos, a men’s group, and other ensembles performing current popular songs as well as hits from the past few decades. The students are assisting in planning this concert, including choice of theme, song choice, speaking parts, solos, and small groups. Performances will include songs such as, Don’t Stop Believing, My Heart Will Go On, Jar of Hearts, Sing, 100 Years, Africa, Man in the Mirror, Bad Day, and many more!
Honors Night 2012
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 23, 7:00 p.m. for our annual Honors Night in the Lakeshore High School Auditorium. Students who have earned Honor Roll status will be invited to attend and, of course, we encourage parents to come and applaud their child’s achievements! Honor Roll status, which is determined by first semester and 3rd marking period grades ~~ not an average of the two ~ is as follows:
Straight ‘A’ Honor Roll: All ‘A’s 6, 7, 8, grades
A/B Honor Roll: All A’s and B’s 6, 7, 8, grades
Academic Honors: 3.25 or higher 6, 7, 8, grades
President’s Education Award: 3.50 or higher every semester in 6, 7, 8
grades. 8th graders only.
LMS is hosting an orientation for the parents of 5th graders on Wednesday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the middle school gym. That evening you will meet our 6th grade guidance counselor, Mrs. Blough, Principal, Mr. Messenger and Asst. Principal, Mrs. Grunert. The evening includes an overview of middle school life and a guided building tour. Please watch your mail for a letter from the guidance office with a RSVP for you!
Girls On Track/Girls On The Run 5K Event
On Thursday, May 31st there will be 110 girls ranging from 3rd-8th grade from Stewart, Hollywood, and Lakeshore Middle School that will be running in a Girls On Track/Girls On The Run 5k event. It will be taking place at Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds at 6:30pm. We would like to thank Horizon Bank for their support by funding our transportation to the location. Come out to cheer on our girls during their 5k run!!
