Dear Roosevelt Families,
Welcome Back! I trust you enjoyed spending some extra time with your children. I know that when I visited classrooms on Monday morning the teachers were so excited to see those eager little faces once again. The children certainly jumped right back into the swing of things as they were busily writing about their adventures over the winter break!
One of the highlights of my day is when students visit me to share their journal writings. Listening to a child read their own writing is a great way to learn about their interests and provides insight into their own unique writing style. I’d encourage you to be an active participant in your child’s writing by asking them to share their writing with you. Who knows, maybe you might try your hand at writing by responding to your child’s journal. Whether writing in a journal, reading a book, or playing a math game you are building valuable connections with your child and their learning.
Respectfully yours,
Marcia A. Bowman
