Building strong reading skills provides a great foundation for your student to excel in school and in life. Reading exercises your brain, improves concentration, improves vocabulary and language skills, develops a child's imagination, while teaching them about different topics. Utilize the reading activities, booklets and toolkit on under our Department of Instruction and Curriculum: Reading by 3rd Grade to strengthen your child's reading skills.
Start reading 5 minutes a day at home with your Kindergartener and by the end of 6th grade your child will have read 900 minutes every school year = 282,000 words and scores in the 50th percentile on average. You can make a difference in your child's future!
