Hello! My name is Allison Arend and I am so incredibly honored to be the Assistant Principal at Lakeshore Middle School! I’m looking forward to an exciting year full of new relationships, service, and learning. I received my undergraduate degree from Hope College and Masters in Education Administration from Michigan State University. I am certified in secondary Social Studies and English and K-12 Elementary & Secondary Administration. I completed my student teaching with Chicago Public Schools, taught high school and middle school, and just completed my fourth year as the Assistant Principal at LMS. In addition to teaching, I have also coached volleyball and Girls On The Run, run the after school program, was my 7th grade PLC leader, chair of the School Improvement committee, a member of the crisis management team, advised Student Senate, and coordinated an annual service learning project. I was named Teacher of the Year at my school in 2017 and MEMSPA’s Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year for 2022. Outside of school, I am a board member of Women’s Service League, a not-for-profit organization of women in Southwest Michigan dedicated to volunteering and giving back to our community. I also regularly volunteer for The Caring Cupboard - a food pantry. I enjoy true crime podcasts, traveling, all things Lake Michigan, live music, farmers markets, and MSU sports… Go Green!
