"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."   -William Arthur Ward

The above quote says it all. I am an enthusiastic, passionate, energetic teacher who strives to inspire children to ask questions, be curious, gain independence, blossom in self-confidence, and SIMPLY want to learn-no matter what. I consider myself a lifelong learner, and every year students teach me, inspire me, and open my mind to endless possibilities.

When not teaching, you can find my husband and me cheering on our boys at soccer and marching band.  Both of my children attend Lakeshore High School. When we are not working or learning, we love to go on family adventures together.  We, also, proudly cheer on the University of Michigan Wolverines.

During the summer, I travel the country helping teachers in other school districts learn about Bridges.  Bridges is an elementary math instructional tool that focuses on developing students’ deep understandings of mathematical concepts, proficiency with key skills, and ability to solve complex and novel problems. Bridges blends direct instruction, structured investigation, and open exploration. It taps into the intelligence and strengths of all students by presenting material that is as linguistically, visually, and kinesthetically rich as it is mathematically powerful.  As someone who struggled with math, I love the opportunity to impact more students to love math…or at least not be afraid of it.
