Thank you for your interest in the Stewart Family! The Stewart Family has P.R.I.D.E. by showing Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Empathy.

I graduated from Ball State University in 2009 with an Honors B.A. in Elementary Education. I earned my Master’s degree in School Administration (K-12) from Indiana Wesleyan University in May 2016.  I am a certified Indiana Advanced School Safety Specialist.

I have six years of teaching experience, serving as a mentor teacher in first, third and fourth grades in Marion, Indiana. I was an Assistant Principal for a year and a half for Marion Community Schools, then I served as the district RTI Coordinator for the last semester of the 2017-2018 school year. I was humbled and blessed to join the Stewart Family as the Principal in the 2018-2019 school year!

The Stewart Family proudly includes students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. We offer a variety clubs and activities for students, including Robotics Club, Creative Canvas, Spanish classes and sports leagues.  Our staff encourages students to take risks in their learning, and to be leaders both in and out of school.  We welcome parent volunteers daily and encourage family involvement.

The teachers at Stewart Elementary work tirelessly to improve their craft and increase student achievement. All teachers at Stewart Elementary receive extensive professional development in Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop. Some teachers have even had the opportunity to be trained at The Teacher’s College in New York City for Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop! Teachers at Stewart have been trained in Bridges Math, and our fourth and fifth grade teachers are implementing Project Lead the Way Science.

The Stewart PTO is incredibly active and welcoming! The Stewart PTO hosts our annual Harvest Hoopla, Donuts for Dads & Dude, Muffins for Moms, Fun Day, Drop Everything and Read, and Breakfast with Santa. The PTO also organizes classroom parties, book fairs, Teacher Appreciation Week and student celebrations.
