    Lakeshore Public Schools conducts enrollment year-round.  You may enroll your student by downloading the documents below and bringing them to the Administration Building located at 5771 Cleveland Avenue, Stevensville, MI 49127.     We LOVE to show families why it is great to be a Lakeshore Lancer! If you are interested in learning more about our schools, please contact the principal of each school to schedule a personal “Lancer Pride” appointment. We will give you a tour of the building, answer any questions you may have and provide you with any additional information you may need.

    Kindergarten and Young Fives Students

    Young Fives Age Requirements - children must be 5 years old between June 1 and December 1, and be an independent bathroom user.  Preference given to those born between September 1 and December 1.

    Kindergarten Age Requirements - children must be 5 years of age by September 1.

    1. Provide a birth certificate (must be certified with a raised seal). The State of Michigan requires the School District to inform authorities if an original, certified birth certificate has not been produced within the requested time frame. We will make a copy of it at our office when you bring it.
    2. Provide immunization records
    3. Provide Three Proofs of residence:
      • Homeowners - If you own or are purchasing a home in the district, please provide:
        • Michigan driver’s license or state ID with current Lakeshore address
        • Current utility bill in the name and address of the person enrolling the student (gas, electric, water, or cable bill only) which matches the service address
        • One of the following: Current Property Tax Bill with name and address; or Purchase Agreement (if closing occurred within the last six months)
      • Tenant – If you are renting a home in the district, please provide:
        • Michigan driver's license or state ID with current Lakeshore address
        • Current utility bill in the name and address of the person enrolling the student (gas, electric, water, or cable bill only) which matches the service address
        • One of the following: Current Property Tax Bill with name and address; or Purchase Agreement (if closing occurred within the last six months)
      • Special Residency –  If the parent/child lives with another family within Lakeshore school district, we require a residency affidavit completed and notarized by our Central Office so both parties need to come in to have their signatures notarized along with the ID of the parent and residency information from the person the family is living with.

     Grades 1 – 5

    Schools of Choice

    -- Schools of Choice is now closed --

    Lakeshore Public Schools does accept Schools of Choice applications for residents of Berrien County only during certain times of the year. Acceptance will be determined by space available at the building and grade level requested. Some requests may be denied due to overall building capacity.

    Parents can apply by completing and returning an application to Lakeshore Public Schools Administrative Office only during the posted dates established each year. In order to receive an email at the start of each application window, please send an email with your complete name, mailing address, and email address to Sue Hardy at shardy@lpslancer.net so you are placed on a list to be contacted.

    Important considerations for parents & students applying for Schools of Choice:

    • Transportation is not provided for Schools of Choice enrollees; parents must provide their own transportation to and from school for children accepted for enrollment.
    • According to the rules of the Michigan High School Athletic Association there are rules for athletic participation for Schools of Choice enrollees in grades 10-12. Please visit the MHSAA website directly for current information and eligibility.

    Application Information

    • Application dates are found in the following application and are only accepted during the specified time frame. Parents will be notified if their student has been accepted as a Schools of Choice student.
    • Completing Enrollment paperwork is not necessary until after being accepted.
