Hello and welcome!
My name is Marc Nelson. I am the woodworking teacher at Lakeshore High School. I also teach Tech Exploration, Auto Awareness and Small Engines. In addition to teaching, I am the co-Career and Technical Education Director.
It is my desire to teach students the joy and skills of woodworking and to be life long learners. I have been woodworking from the age of 13 grade and enjoy applying problem solving to my building and designing. I am posting some of my more recent woodworking projects along with some of my student's work from here at LHS and other schools I have taught at.
In addition to woodworking, my hobbies and interests include mountain biking, photography, backpacking, horseback riding and learning. I earned a Bachelor's degree at Andrews University in Technology Education and a Masters degree at Central Michigan University in Industrial Education. Before coming to Lakeshore High School, I taught middle school technology for four years, high school computer-aided design, machine shop and welding, woodshop and I have been a high school principal for four and a half years. I am currently working on a PhD in Educational Leadership at Andrews University.
