Lakeshore staff wrapped up preseason 2025 today with an inspiring day of learning alongside Dr. Luis Cruz and our amazing district leaders!

Dr. Cruz reminded us of the “why” behind our Professional Learning Teams and the important role they play in helping ALL of our students learn and succeed at high levels..

Happy 4th of July from Lakeshore Public Schools! Today, we celebrate the birth of our great nation and honor the values of freedom, unity, and opportunity. As we enjoy fireworks, parades, and time with loved ones, let’s also remember the importance of community and the role education plays in shaping our shared future. Wishing all our students, families, staff, and neighbors a safe and joyful Independence Day!

While our dedicated staff are hard at work preparing for the 2025–2026 school year, our young athletes are also staying busy! They're training, working out, and giving it their all at our Lakeshore Public Schools summer camps. We love seeing their energy and commitment both in and out of the classroom! #LancersLead

Summer break may have just begun, but our dedicated staff is actively engaged in professional development! They're currently participating in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training to further strengthen their abilities in supporting our students effectively. We're proud of their commitment to continuous learning!

At our End-of-the-Year District-Wide Staff Celebration this afternoon, we had the pleasure of recognizing several outstanding members of our Lakeshore family. We celebrated the retirements of Deanna Chorny (34 years), Jeff Chorny (32 years), Leo Stampfly (30 years), Yolanda Broehm (24 years), Christine Green (22 years), and Nancy vonKoenig (14 years), honoring their many years of dedicated service to Lakeshore Public Schools. We also recognized Nanine Cvengros and Brian Ames as the Totzke-Nye Support Staff Persons of the Year, and Christy Erickson and Andy Shingledecker with the R. Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have secured the freedoms we enjoy every day. As we spend this day with family and friends, may we take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and express our gratitude for those who gave their lives for our nation. Our graduates had the opportunity to visit Lakeshore Middle School and their elementary school one last time this afternoon. They enjoyed reconnecting with former teachers and being cheered on by the next generation of Lancers during their walk through the buildings! Some graduates visiting at Roosevelt Elementary even joined a quick game of locomotor vs. non-locomotor movement in a PE class—what a fun and memorable sendoff!
